Jazz Alley TV off to film the Barbados Jazz Festival 2006!

Maui filmmaker, Ken. K. Martinez Burgmaier was hired by Viacom's BET, the BET JAZZ Network & Digital Music Networks working with the Barbados Tourism Authority to direct and produce three one hour national TV specials on the Barbados Jazz Festival in the Caribbean.

An All-Star Line-up Set to Perform at the Barbados Jazz Festival January 9 – 15, 2006 - Lionel Richie to Headline the 13th Annual Jazz Festival

Barbados, West Indies – A dazzling line-up of international performers, including singing sensation Lionel Richie and musician Jill Scott, make the Thirteenth Annual Barbados Jazz Festival a must for music lovers of all ages. There is an assortment of music for every taste, from up and coming talent to jazz purists. The festival is scheduled for January 9 – 15, 2006, and will be staged at various locations, among them the historic Sunbury Plantation House, Heritage Park , set in a rum Factory, the Garfield Sobers Gymnasium and the lush and breezy Farley Hill National Park . It's the perfect time to explore this leading Caribbean destination.

The key performers this year are: Lionel Richie, Jill Scott, Arturo Tappin, Roy Hargrove & Roberta Gambarini, Art Work & Wayne Willock, Norman Brown, Cindy Alexander, Boney James, Gary Davis Band and the Cuban Jazz All-Stars.

Maui Filmmaker Ken K Martinez Burgmaier is gearing up with his Jazz Alley TV crews to bring in Seven Broadcast cameras to document this beautiful and energetic music event and capturing all the magnificent beauty of Barbados . “This is our third time we have been asked to film this amazing festival and it is a great honor and I am humbled to be asked back to bring in our vision of filmmaking of sharing it with the world's TV audience. Last year we produced three TV specials on the festival and it has been recognized as a musical and Caribbean masterpiece. Back in 1997 the TV Special/Documentary we produced still exhibits this gem of a festival with its wonderful variety of music, culture, food, Caribbean uniqueness and all the beautiful people of Barbados .”
